Panel expert meeting | Sector coupling - Polish energy sector climate neutral by 2050

9.6.2020

Event

Achieving climate neutrality is one of the main goals of the European Union. We cannot stay indifferent to climate change and our task is to develop measures that will effectively reduce emissions and stop catastrophic climate change. Transport, heating and energy will have to change as environmental sectors. Electrification of district heating and transport based on low-carbon sources is a huge opportunity, but requires a major change in thinking about the energy transformation.

Summary

The Forum Energii invites to a discussion on how to reduce emissions from the transport, energy and heating sectors, achieve the 2050 goals and how to optimise the cost. On the basis of the latest report and just before its publication, we will try to identify the opportunities for connecting these sectors and adopting a comprehensive approach to the energy transition. Will the energy sector in Poland achieve the climate neutrality target and can our country be free of coal by 2050? What are the consequences of this decision? We hope that our dialogue will make a positive contribution to the discussions on the European agreement on climate protection. We have invited representatives of state administration, industry organisations, science and business to discuss this issue.
