Panel expert meeting | Back to the future | How to change the energy market?

The energy transition starts with the energy market. Digitalization, decentralization and decarbonization put pressure on the functioning of the market. Poland is on the threshold of such a discussion, and the package "Clean energy for all Europeans" is its prologue. The impact of this package on the energy sector is the subject of a panel of experts organized on 12 September by Forum Energii. 

Consisting of eight legal acts, the Clean Energy Package is the largest set of rules in the history of EU regulation. First, it sets ambitious energy and climate targets for 2030 and tasks for Member States (including the requirement to prepare national plans). Secondly, it introduces specific regulations that already need to be implemented in national law.

We believe that, especially now when we are discussing a new energy policy in Poland, the gradual phasing out of coal, the way prices are regulated and the impact of energy on the economy as a whole, it is important to address what underlies these changes - the energy market and its reform.

The aim of the meeting is to discuss the specific changes that need to be made in Poland to adapt to the challenges of the winter package, but above all how to return to a competitive energy market. 

Participation in the panel of experts is possible only upon invitation and there is no open registration. Meetings are held in accordance with Chatham House rules to facilitate the free exchange of opinions among guests.
